Rooted in Faith, Writing for the Soul

I never knew a time when Jesus was not present in my life. I grew up in a Christian family where spending time with God as a family and personally shaped my life. As a teen struggling with deep depression, the Bible saved my life. It is where I sought refuge from the dark thoughts that accosted my mind.  The light of God's love brought me out of that dark place.

My faith has seen me through many difficult challenges, including being diagnosed with Crohn’s disease at age 27 and then cancer at age 44. Holding on to God’s promises, spending time in the Bible, and communing with God in prayer has been a lifeline. Being a part of women’s Bible studies has also been a lifeline. Having Christian friends to support me and pray for me has encouraged me as I went through difficult seasons in my life.

Being a part of group Bible studies has not only been an encouragement to me, but it has allowed me to be able to pray for and encourage others. It has grown my prayer life as I have learned from others and prayed for others. I had always felt afraid to pray in front of others, and I learned how to do that. It has grown my spiritual life as I have listened to other people’s perspectives and then delved deep into the Bible to see what truth was.  I learned through the discipleship of my teachers to lead my own Bible studies as I grew in Holy Spirit-given confidence.

I have always wanted to be a writer, and I felt that God was leading me to write a Bible study book that would help disciple new believers and maybe even help a few “more mature” ones as well! 

 

Now, as an author, my mission is clear: to offer you a companion in your study of Hebrews that feels both ancient and immediate. Every word I write is a prayer that you would see Jesus as greater than any obstacle you face, anchoring your faith in His eternal high priesthood.
